fick ett mail från surmunity.com innan i dag , det är ju så att manufrog ligger i deras nät me om jag inte missförstått nått
är detta något vi måste göra oxå är alltså min fråga , 72 timmar känns lite väl snabbt , har en drös moddar på mitt forum som e krabbigt värre och fixa på 72 timmar

Spammers can use outdated phpBB installs to send out their scams. It causes unnecessary mail
problems and blacklisting issues. Most of you may be familiar with either of those problems, or
both. Besides the spamming issues, there are other types of exploits that can allow outsiders to
launch attacks against other servers, among other wrongdoings. This is all certainly negative
and unfair for everyone on our servers.

There are many outdated versions of phpBB across our network and they are being disabled during
the next 72 hours. This means if your phpBB version is below 2.0.16 it will no longer function.

If we can get everyone who uses phpBB at Surpass to upgrade to the latest version at least, it
will be better than the point we are at now. At the present time there are scattered versions on
all servers, some not even in use. Sometimes phpBB is installed just to test it out (like many
other programs), then it sits in waiting on the server as spam bait. We hope this letter gets to
everyone and gets the word out about this problem. If everyone who needs to use this program can
keep it up to date, then we can continue to allow it on our servers despite the problems that it
has a potential to cause. The key to preventing problems is education. That is why it is so
important that we bring together our hosting community to our forum (www.surmunity.com) so that
we can all easily read about current issues and ask any questions.

With that said, this letter serves as a reminder that our forum is our prime means of
communication regarding server updates and any announcements. Updates such as this one will not
be sent to our customer database again. (The customer database holds the email address you typed
in when you signed up). From now on, we will only send mass messages out to the forum database. 

Please register on our forum, if you have not already, so that you can subscribe to the Server
Announcements board and the Critical Application Upgrades board.

Det är riktigt att våra servrar ligger i Surpasshosting's nät.
Vi vill självklart uppmana alla som använder phpBB att uppgradera snabbast möjligast. Dock håller jag med om att 72 timmar känns lite väl snålt tilltaget.

Jag ska höra med teknikerna om detta med 72 timmar även gäller våra dedikerade servrar. Återkommer så snart jag fått svar.

Om man inte gjort några större ändringar, och installerat med Fantastico, är det enkelt att via Fantastico uppgradera med "några klick".
Det är värre om man har som Du, en mängd olika moddar.

Svaret är att våra servrar inte drabbas av att phpBB's äldre versioner slutar fungera.

Däremot uppmanar vi alla våra kunder att uppgradera omgående, så vi slipper Spam problem.
Vill inte att våra ip-nummer ska hamna på någon svartlistning.

Upptäcks det att någon installation av ett äldre phpBB används för massutskick av Spam, kommer vi givetvis vidta åtgärder. Dock kommer alltid kunden först informeras om detta, så vi kan lösa det på bästa sätt.
